Orientation Program

Our Year 7 Orientation Program includes:

Primary School Connections

Staff and Student Ambassadors visit local primary schools to meet Year 6 students and teachers.

Orientation Day

Students meet their new classmates and teachers, beginning to build friendships and confidence.

Parent/Carer Welcome

A relaxed coffee morning on orientation day offers families the chance to connect with staff and other parents/carers before the school holidays.

First Day Focus

Year 7 students start a day prior to years 8 to 12 students, supported by dedicated teachers and Peer Support leaders.

Parent/carer Information Evening

A one-hour information session in week 1 to provide essential information. Presented in the Year 7 learning area by school leaders.

Ongoing Support

Daily check-ins, a Peer Support program, and our Learning to Learn initiative help students settle in and develop good study habits.

Community Building

The Term 1 camp and wellbeing program help students form strong connections and feel part of the Brighton community.

Throughout the year, the College works closely with families, students, and staff to support wellbeing, celebrate achievements, and provide guidance when challenges arise. The transition to secondary school is a shared journey, and open communication with families is key to every student’s success.
