Success Code

Our BSC Success Code reflects the values and expectations that guide our school community.

The Success Code ensures that students, staff and families share a clear understanding of the vision and values of the College and the behaviours that support a positive learning environment. It helps create a culture where every member of our community works together with the best interests of students at heart.

At BSC, positive relationships are central to everything we do. By following the expectations outlined in the Success Code, students, staff and families contribute to a community where everyone is treated with fairness, consistency and respect.

The Success Code also outlines the shared responsibilities of students, staff and families in maintaining a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment, where every student is encouraged to grow, learn and be the best version of themselves each day.

BrightLife Program

We know our students are growing up in a world that’s fast-moving, complex, and at times overwhelming. The pressures they face — both online and offline — are unlike anything previous generations experienced. Yet, amidst these challenges, we see incredible potential, resilience, kindness, and ambition in our classrooms every day.

Launching in 2026, BrightLife will be part of the timetabled curriculum for all students in Years 7 to 9. The program focuses on nurturing the whole student — building real-life skills that help young people understand themselves, form positive relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence and care.

Developed in partnership with students, staff, and the wider community, BrightLife ensures the unique needs of Brighton Secondary students are met. The Year 7 focus includes emotional literacy, recognising personal and collective strengths, help-seeking, and problem-solving — setting a strong foundation for wellbeing and growth.
